UMI’s olivine abrasive is priced lower than our Sharpjet garnet abrasive. Olivine is a blasting abrasive offering a suitable alternative to typical dirty, black metallic slag abrasives (coal slag and copper slag). Olivine abrasive is also a suitable low cost alternative to garnet abrasives for waterjet cutting applications. Olivine abrasive provides white metal finish in sandblasting applications.
Industrial olivine abrasives have been commonly used in Europe and Far East for many years. Universal Minerals, Inc offers an alternative olivine abrasive to Green Lightning (olivine abrasive produced in USA by Unimin).
